Bhopal, May 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh State Soft Tennis Association is all set to organise 6th Senior National Soft Tennis Championship for the first time in the state capital from May 26 to 29.

Association Patron and BJP MLA Deepak Joshi told reporters here today that the matches would be held at local Arera Club and about 300 players from 17 states would take part.

He said that in soft tennis the rules were same as lawn tennis but the ball was comparatively soft and racket was a bit small.

''Soft tennis was started in Japan in the end of 19th century and soon gained popularity in Asian and American countries but only five years ago the game was introduced in India,'' he added.
