Over 180 players vie for top honours at the 28th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship in U-16, U-14 categories

After the captivating tennis action by the adult stars, the prestigious 28th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship 2023 will feature more than 180 junior players competing for the U-16 and U-14 crowns across various categories at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi from October 9 to 14.

In the U-16 division, 56 boys and 40 girls will compete for singles crowns, while 32 players from each of the boy's and girl's divisions will compete in doubles matches.

The top seed in the boys U-16 singles division is Dhiraj Reddy V of Telangana, and the top seed in the girls U-16 singles division is Delhi's Riya Sachdeva, who recently won the girls U-18 doubles championship alongside Asmi Adkar of Maharashtra.

Renowned Indian tennis players like Rohan Bopanna, Somdev Devvarman, Yuki Bhambri, Sania Mirza, and Rutuja Bhosale have competed in previous editions of the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, which is organised by DCM Shriram Ltd., a prominent business conglomerate, under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association and Delhi Lawn Tennis Association. It is the biggest domestic tennis competition in India.

Moreover, a total of 40 girls and 56 boys will compete in the U-14 singles divisions. 32 players will compete for the top prizes in the boys' and girls' divisions of the U-14 doubles category. While the singles final will be played on Saturday, the doubles division finals will take place on Friday.

The junior categories of the competition also receive a kit allowance.
