Beijing, Aug 13: India's Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi entered the doubles quarter-final at the Olympic Games, beating Brazilian pair Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa 6-4,6-2 at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre here Wednesday.
It took a lot to make them play together but once they walked out in the court, Paes and Bhupathi were their usual self as the 'Indian Express' duo tamed the Brazilian pair with consummate ease in their second round match. Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian duo started their gold quest by beating French pair of Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon 6-3, 6-3 in less than an hour.
Despite not playing together enough in recent past, there was no real rust in their play as Paes and Bhupathi played clinical tennis against their Brazilian rivals to chalk out a rather facile victory.
