Paes-Dlouhy semi stopped due to bad light

By Staff

London, Jul 4 (UNI) In a keenly fought encounter, Indian tennis ace Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy were held 3-3 in the fourth set by the Canadian-Serbian pair of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic in the Wimbledon doubles semi-final before play was suspended for the day due to bad light.

The match will resume today.

Nestor and Zimonjic were leading with the score at 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-1, 3-3 when play was stopped.

After losing the first set 7-4 in the tie-breaker, Peas-Dlouhy made a strong comeback to prevail 6-4 in the second set.

But they failed to keep up the momentum as the Canadian-Serbian combination claimed the third set 6-1 to regain the lead.
