Pakistan to honour Indian tennis star Bopanna

Lahore, Sep 17: Once again sports bring the two enemy nations, India and Pakistan close to each other. After cricket, now it's Tennis that omits some distances between the countries.

Pakistan government announced that the country will honour Indian tennis player, Rohan Bopanna along with his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi for their performance in US Open.

Governor Salmaan Taseer informed, "Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari have consented to my proposal and both players will soon be rewarded for their feat."

Qureshi's hard work had paid off and also conveyed a message to other youngsters to follow in his path, he added.

He awarded a gold medal and Rs 500,000 to Qureshi.
