London, July 3: Play resumed for a third time at Wimbledon today after a two-hour rain break.
Twice former champion Serena Williams, who collapsed with cramp before the break during her fourth round match against Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia, returned wearing leggings and strapping on her legs.
The American had won the first set 6-2 against Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in a fourth round match but was struggling for survival at 4-2 down in the second set tiebreak when they were called off court.
Hantuchova won the tiebreak 7-2 shortly after the resumption.
Play at Wimbledon started late because of showers and only 90 minutes was possible before the covers were pulled on again for almost three hours.
Another 90-minute window allowed fans to see some action before the rain returned.
