New Delhi, Oct 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday congratulated tennis star Sania Mirza for her victory in the WTA Finals.

"Congratulations to @MirzaSania for the victory in WTA Finals. This is yet another proud accomplishment!" Modi said in a tweet.

The India-Zimbabwe tennis pair of Sania Mirza and Cara Black drubbed defending champions in the women's doubles summit clash to clinch the prestigious season-ending WTA Finals title Sunday.

Sania had also reached the US Open semis with Cara earlier this season. Last month, the duo announced that the season finale would be their last tournament together.
