Rafael Nadal declared top seed for US Open

New York, Aug 24: Despite the fact that Rafael Nadal is still on the look out for his first US Open title, the Spaniard has been installed as top seed for the 2010 tournament.

The World number one will be hoping to complete a career grand slam at the Flushing Meadows.

Swiss tennis ace, Roger Federer, who has claimed US Open five times, follows Nadal as the second seeded player.

While Serb Novak Djokovic is seeded third, Briton's Andy Murray has been installed fourth.

Murray crashed out of the 2008 US Open as a runner-up.

The 2009 winner and the current title holder, Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro has withdrawn from the tournament as he is still recovering from surgery on a right wrist injury, which has cost him a whle season.
