Indian Wells, Mar 19: Dishing out a 6-4 7-6 defeat to Czech Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals, Spaniard Rafael Nadal is on his way to defending his title at the BNP Paribas Open.
Apart from being the defending champion, Nadal is the only remaining top seed player at Indian Wells as world number one Roger Federer and Serbian Novak Djokovic, who is ranked second, are out of the tournament.
The other two top players, world number 4 Brit Andy Murray and seventh-seeded American Andy Roddick will be playing their quarter-final matches on Friday, Mar 19.
Third seed Nadal will be clashing against 20th-seeded Croat Ivan Ljubicic in the semifinals.
