Sania advances in pre-quarters in Japan Open
Tokyo, Oct 1 (UNI) Sania Mirza kickstarted her Japan Open campaign in emphatic style, by brushing aside local challenger Ayumi Morita 6-0, 6-4 to storm into the pre quater-final here today.
The second seeded Indian, who was out of action for nearly a month due to a wrist injury, will now face Australian Cassey Dellacqua in the next round of the 1,75,000 dollar Tier III event.
Sania will pertner American Christina Fusano in doubles and the duo will take on the pair of Urszula Radwanska (Poland) and Agnes Szatmari (Romania) in the opening round.
