Sania Mirza set to become Asia's number one women's tennis player

New Delhi, Jan.28 : India's Sania Mirza is set to become Asia's number one women's tennis star, overtaking China's Na Li in the WTA Rankings.

Agency reports said the official WTA list would be announced on Tuesday.

Sania's third-round appearance in the Australian Open has enabled her to be ranked 29th on the WTA charts, up three spots from her previous ranking.

Mirza said she was pleased to hear the news, and described it as a rare honour.
