Seeded players have it easy in boys under-16 tennis nationals

Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Seeded players had an easy outing in the Ramesh Desai Memorial National boys under-16 tennis tournament, being played at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association courts, here today.

Top seed Jugal Marfatia of Maharashtra did not have to break too much sweat as he overpowered wild carder Shiva Tokas of Delhi in straight sets at 6-1, 6-2 to book his place in the second round.

Among the other seeds to advance into the second round today included third seed S V Abhishek, fourth seed Sourabh Singh, Ronit Bhist of Delhi, the sixth seed, and seventh seed Sanip Mehta from Gujarat.
