Seeds have it easy in Junior National ranking tennis

Pune, Nov 3 (UNI) Local player and over came Parth Chivate made the most of his luck as he put out Parth Shah 6-4, 6-7 (8-6), 6-3 in a thrilling encounter to make it to the second round of the Walchand Cup under 16 National Series Tennis Tournament', here today.

In another interesting match, Shaikh Wahab got past Swapnil Saraiya 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to make it to the second round. Sixth seeded Suraj Kanwar overcame initial hiccups to win 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 against qualifier Ashman Ghogari.

All the other seeds had easy outings on their way to the second round.

The tournament was inaugurated at the hands of President of the Walchandnagar Industries Mr. S.S Gangavati, who announced that the event would be an annual feature on the city's tennis map.
