Serena Williams pulls out of Berlin event

BERLIN, May 2 (Reuters) Australian Open winner Serena Williams has pulled out of next week's German Open in Berlin, the organisers said today.

''Due to a groin injury, which has not completely healed, I am forced to cancel,'' said the world number 12.

Former French Open winner Anastasia Myskina has also pulled out of the clay-court tournament due to injury, organisers said. The event is due to be held on May 7-13 in the German capital.
