London, Jul 2: Defending Champion Serena Williams charged into her third consecutive Wimbledon finals on Thursday, Jul 1 after routing Czech Petra Kvitova 7-6(5), 6-2 in the semi-finals.

The only thing that now stands between the American ace and her goal of regaining her Wimbledon crown is the 21-seeded Vera Zvonareva of Russia.
The Russian defeated unseeded Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the other semi-final tie to march into the finals.
Commenting on the finals, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, Jul 3, Serena said, “Vera is a great player. I've had some unbelievable matches against her.It will be tough. I feel like I have nothing to lose going into the final and she doesn't either, so it will be good."
