Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITF W100 Bengaluru 2026, defeating Francesca Curmi 7-6(6), 6-4. The Indian contender joins Sahaja Yamlapali and Vaishnavi Adkar in the later rounds, with several seeds also moving forward in Bengaluru.

Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty led the Indian challenge with a gritty win at the KPB Trust ITF Women’s Open W100 Bengaluru 2026, moving into the Round of 16 in women’s singles. Several seeded players also progressed, while there were mixed fortunes for Indian players across both singles and doubles on 18 February 2026.

Top seed Talia Gibson, second seed Lanlana Tararudee and third seed Hanne Vandewinkel all advanced in straight sets, underlining seed dominance on the opening days. Seventh seed Elena Pridankina also came through a tight match, while a number of three-setters shaped the rest of the Round of 32 card.

Shrivalli Bhamidipaty Advances to Round 16 Bengaluru

Bhamidipaty defeated Francesca Curmi 7-6(6), 6-4 in a tense first-round battle at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium. The match featured long baseline exchanges and frequent shifts in momentum, but Bhamidipaty held firm in key moments to join Sahaja Yamlapali and wildcard Vaishnavi Adkar in the Round of 16.

The opening set began with Bhamidipaty holding serve with two aces, before Curmi broke in the third game and dictated extended rallies. Bhamidipaty broke back, only for Curmi to secure another break and consolidate. Bhamidipaty stayed steady, held serve, and broke again in the eighth game to pull level at 4-4.

With both players testing each other from the back of the court, the first set moved into a tiebreak. Bhamidipaty earned a set point after dragging Curmi around the baseline but lost it with an unforced error. Bhamidipaty immediately recovered, however, and sealed the set with a powerful ace that swung the contest her way.

Bhamidipaty secured an early break in the second set and controlled the scoreboard pressure. Curmi started to tire as rallies lengthened, and two unforced errors in the seventh game gifted Bhamidipaty a second break. Curmi broke back in the next game, but Bhamidipaty stayed composed and closed the match 6-4 on serve.

In women’s doubles, Anastasia Kulikova and Kristiana Sidorova produced one of the day’s tightest contests by defeating top seeds Harriet Dart and Nicole Fossa Huergo 6-3, 0-6, 10-8. The pair recovered from a heavy second-set loss and edged the match tie-break to book a place in the quarterfinals.

Thursday presents a demanding schedule for Indian players. Bhamidipaty is set to meet third seed Hanne Vandewinkel in a challenging second-round encounter. Wildcard Vaishnavi Adkar will face eighth seed Mai Hontama, while Sahaja Yamlapali is scheduled to take on top seed Talia Gibson, who looked strong in the opening round.

Earlier in singles, Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi lost 1-6, 6-1, 0-6 to fifth seed Polina Iatcenko. Revathi struggled with returns and unforced errors in the first set, then raised intensity to dominate the second as Iatcenko’s level dipped. Errors resurfaced for Revathi in the decider, and Iatcenko raced to 4-0 before closing out the match.

Other seeds progressed with fewer problems. Gibson defeated Vaidehee Chaudhari 6-4, 6-0, pulling away after a close first set. Vandewinkel overcame Ya-Hsuan Lee 6-1, 6-2, while Tararudee beat Victoria Milovanova 6-1, 6-4. Pridankina edged Eri Shimizu 7-6(5), 6-4 to secure her place in the Round of 16.

There were several three-set wins among the remaining singles ties. Mei Yamaguchi beat Anastasia Kulikova 3-6, 6-0, 6-1, and Sidorova defeated Sohyun Park 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Arina Gabriela Vasilescu saw off Priska Madelyn Nugroho 6-2, 6-3, while Jasmijn Gimbrere outlasted Misaki Matsuda 7-5, 7-5 in a close contest decided by key points.
