India's Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty and Vaidehi Chaudhari have been awarded wild cards for the $100,000 KPB Trust ITF Open starting January 21 in Bengaluru. This event marks a significant opportunity for Indian players to enhance their rankings.

India's third-ranked tennis player, Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty, along with Vaidehi Chaudhari, has been granted wild cards for the $100,000 KPB Trust ITF Open. This prestigious event is set to commence on January 21 at the KSLTA courts in Bengaluru.

Shrivalli, who concluded last season with her second ITF title, aims to perform well in a city where she previously secured her first title two years ago.

Wild Cards Awarded for ITF Open in Bengaluru

Vaidehi Chaudhari, like Shrivalli, has also achieved success with three ITF titles. Both players are eager to overcome their recent setbacks in New Delhi and make a strong showing at this significant ITF World Tennis Tour event. The tournament represents an excellent opportunity for Indian players to gain valuable experience and improve their rankings.

In addition to the main draw wild cards awarded to Shrivalli and Vaidehi, promising Bengaluru players Sreenidhi Balaji and Amodini Vijay Naik have received wild cards for the qualifying rounds. Former India No. 1 Karman Kaur Thandi also joins them in the qualifiers. These rounds will take place on January 19 and 20, with eight players advancing to the main draw of 32 participants.

Shrivalli expressed her excitement about participating in the upgraded $100K event. She stated, "I am thrilled to be part of the ITF WTT W100 here in the heart of the city. It’s an amazing initiative by the entire KSLTA team in upgrading the tournament to an $100K event where a lot of Indians can gain amazing experience and also move up in the rankings."

The KPB Trust ITF Open is set to be one of India's largest-ever events on the ITF World Tennis Tour. The tournament provides a platform for local talent to showcase their skills against international competition. With increased prize money and ranking points available, it promises intense competition among participants.

The wild card entries into both the main draw and qualifying rounds highlight India's commitment to nurturing homegrown talent. By providing opportunities for local players like Shrivalli and Vaidehi, Indian tennis continues its efforts towards growth on an international level.

The upcoming tournament not only offers competitive play but also serves as a stepping stone for Indian players aiming higher in global rankings. As they prepare for this significant event, all eyes will be on how these athletes perform at home.
