South to take on Lu in finals of ITF Women's Tennis

Pune, Nov 14 (UNI) Top seed Melanie South overpowered Ksenia Plaknia here today to set up a title clash with eighth ranked Jing Jing Lu in the final of the 25,000 dollar NECC- ITF women's tennis Championships.

In the semifinals, Britain's Melanie South ousted fourth seeded Ksenia Plakina of Krgystan 6-4, 6-4 in 73 minutes, while China's Lu Jing Jing stopped the winning run of Serbian qualifier Bojana Jovanovski 7-5, 6-3 in a 87-minute battle.

The second seeded Chinese Taipei pair of Kai-Chen Chang/I Hsuan Hwang scraped past Elora Dabija (Romania) and Bojana Jovanovski (Serbia) 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 to lift the doubles crown.
