Stosur insists on beating Serena in Australian Open

Melbourne, Jan 24(ANI): Australian tennis player Sam Stosur has said that she can beat World No. 1 Serena Williams in the fourth round of their Australian Open game.

"I'm looking forward to it. I've lived up to my expectation. Now, I've got to where I should have got to. Playing the No. 1 player in the world, the defending champion, I can go out there and really enjoy it," The Daily Telegraph quoted Stosur, as saying.

"I know I've been able to get over and beat her before. I'm going to try to go out there and play the best I can. You know, you're playing obviously a great champion. I guess I don't really have that much to lose," she added.

The last time the two played, Stosur had stunned Williams in the Stanford's Bank of the West Classic quarterfinals and the 11-time grand slam champion didn't take the loss well.

"She had a lot of lucky shots. She's a good framer, but it's obviously all talent. She has mastered that," Williams had said.

However, Stosur doesn't think luck played a part in that monumental victory.

"I guess she thought I hit too many frames or shanks during that match. Maybe I hit a couple, but I hit with a bit of spin. Maybe she wasn't expecting so many balls to drop in because of the spin," Stosur said. No, I didn't see it as a lucky win. I actually thought I played well, and I thought she was trying to win the match as best she could as well. You know, I took it as a fair win," she added. (ANI)
