Tennis-Briton Murray pulls out of New Haven event

CINCINNATI, Aug 15 (Reuters) Briton Andy Murray has pulled out of next week's ATP event in New Haven.

The Scot made his comeback last week after 12 weeks out since tearing tendons in his right wrist in May but has decided to rest and practice for the US Open, which begins on August 27.

''He isn't ready to play. Instead, he'll keep working hard and hopes to be ready for the US Open,'' a statement on Murray's official website said.

Murray had been awarded a wildcard into the event, the final tournament before the US Open.
