The Tennis Premier League 2023 saw Bengaluru SG Mavericks finish the 4th day at the top of the standings with 173 points at the Balewadi Complex in Pune.
The fifth season of the Tennis Premier League is in full swing, and Day 4 proved to be a thrilling display of skill and competition.

The day commenced with an electrifying match where the Punjab Patriots squared off against the Mumbai Leon Army. Conny Perrin, representing the Patriots, secured a narrow victory over Sowjanya Bavisetti in the Women's Singles Category with a scoreline of 11-9. However, the tables turned in the Men's Singles as Digvijay Pratap Singh fell short against Ernests Gulbis, marking a 9-11 win for the Leon Army.
The Mixed Doubles saw a reversal of fortunes with Perrin and her teammate Arjun Khade clinching a win against Bavisetti and Vijay Sundar Prashanth, ending the game at 12-8. Persistence paid off in the Men's Doubles as well, with Singh and Khade of the Patriots overpowering their opponents, Gulbis and Prashanth, thus sealing the match 43-37 in favor of the Punjab team. Arjun Khade's stellar performance earned him the Best Player of the Match accolade.
The Gujarat Panthers, bolstered by the presence of their ambassador, Arjun Kapoor, locked horns with the Bengaluru SG Mavericks in the second fixture. Ekaterina Yashina of the Panthers outplayed Arina Rodionova in the Women's Singles with a score of 12-8. Yet, the Mavericks showed their might as Sumit Nagal of the Panthers was overpowered by Ramkumar Ramanathan in a decisive 6-14 loss in the Men's Singles.
Despite a hard-fought battle in the Mixed Doubles, Yashina and Mukund Sasikumar were edged out by Rodionova and Vishnu Vardhan. The final score favored the Mavericks at 34-46, with Ramanathan shining as the Player of the Match.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Binny's Brigade faced the Bengal Wizards in a contest that began with Sahaja Yamalapalli besting Maria Timofeeva in the Women's Singles. Denis Novak continued the Brigade's winning streak in the Men's Singles. However, the Mixed
Doubles saw Yamalapalli and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan succumb to Timofeeva and Anirudh Chandrasekar. Redemption came in the Men's Doubles as Nedunchezhiyan and Novak emerged victorious, concluding the match with a Delhi triumph at 45-35 and Novak earning the Player of the Match title.
The final clash featured the Pune Jaguars against the Hyderabad Strikers. Despite a challenging start with Diana Marcinkevica's defeat to Ellen Perez, the Jaguars recovered in the Mixed Doubles. However, the Strikers had the last laugh with a close 39-41 match win, and Perez was lauded as the Player of the Match for her exceptional performance.
