Tennis-Robredo eases into Den Bosch second round but Ferrero out
AMSTERDAM, June 19 (Reuters) Top seed Tommy Robredo eased past Dutchman Michel Koning 6-4 7-6 in the first round of the Den Bosch Open today, but fellow Spanish seed Juan Carlos Ferrero suffered an early exit.
In the women's event, Serbian second seed Ana Ivanovic and third seed Anna Chakvetadze of Russia booked their places in the third round after two-set wins.
Former French Open champion Ferrero, ranked 18th in the world and seeded fifth here, was humbled 2-6 6-3 6-2 by Argentine Carlos Berlocq, who is ranked 94th.
Sixth seed Juan Ignacio Chela was disposed of 6-4 6-4 by France's Julien Benneteau at the grasscourt tournament.
Argentina's Guillermo Canas, the third seed, saw off Ernests Gulbis from Latvia 7-6 7-5.
Ivanovic beat Greece's Eleni Daniilidou 7-6 6-2, while Chakvetadze triumphed 6-4 7-6 over Italian Francesca Schiavone in second-round matches.
