Melbourne, Mar 31: Llyeton Hewitt and his wife Bec initiated a legal action against the New Idea magazine after it claimed the actress was seeing another man, who in reality was her brother, Shaun Cartwright.
The magazine ran a cover story titled 'Bec's other man' and claimed she was spending more and more time with a 'hunky' American fitness trainer. The magazine carried photographs of Bec and 'Minder Mark' with the Hewitts' two young children.
They described the article as a 'calculated deception' of the Australian public. "Our marriage has never been stronger," they said.
"We are blessed with two wonderful healthy children (Mia and Cruz) and we are still very much in love.
"For some time now we've had to endure fictional, rubbish stories by New Idea and Woman's Day targeted at our marriage, private lives and even work with charities.
"This brazen fabrication by New Idea will hopefully highlight to the Australian public the untruths and lies some magazines will resort to achieve increased sales," news.com.au quoted them both, as saying.
Bec Hewitt is demanding an apology and correction from New Idea.
