India's Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden will face French pair Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the US Open 2023 men's doubles semi-final on Thursday (September 7).

Earlier, Bopanna-Ebden pair, who had reached the Wimbledon semi-final in July, faced their toughest test as they beat the all-British duo of Julian Cash and Henry Patten 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-6(6) in the round of 16.

In the earlier rounds, the Indo-Australian duo registered straight sets win over Kazakh-Russian duo of Roman Safiullin and AndreyGolubev in the second round followed by another straight sets win over Australian pair Aleksandar Vukic and Christopher O'Connell in the first round.

Meanwhile, their semi-final opponents Mahut and Herbert overcame American-French pair Robert Galloway and Albano Olivetti in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 in their quarter-final clash.

In the round of 16, the French pair had to overcome Argentine-Spanish pair of Horacio Zeballos Jr and Marcel Granollers Pujol in three sets by a score of 7-6(0), 4-6, 6-4.

In earlier rounds, the five-time grand slam champion pair Mahut-Herbert eased to straight sets win over Hungarian-Australian pair Marton Fucsovics and Alexei Popyrin in the first round before dismantling 12th seeded Brit-Kiwi pair of Jamie Murray and Michael Venus in the second round.
