US Open 2023 Women's Singles has reached the climax stage as it's down to the final four with Coco Gauff, Karolina Muchova, Madison Keys and Aryna Sabalenka set to battle in the semi-finals on Thursday (September 7) in New York.

In the first semi-final, sixth-seed American Gauff will take on tenth-seed Czech Muchova, while second-seed Belarusian Sabalenka will meet seventeenth-seed American Keys in the second semi-final.

Gauff breezed past 20th seeded Latvian Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 to book her last four meeting with French Open runner up Muchova, who also eased past 30th seed Romanian Sorana Cirstea in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 in the quarter-final.

Gauff vs Muchova Head to Head

This will be the second meeting between Gauff and Muchova. The pair met earlier in the 2023 Western & Southern Open final in Cincinnati last month, when Gauff defeated Muchova in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to lift the Cincinnati Masters title.

Sabalenka, on the other hand, claimed a straight sets win over 23rd seed Quing Chen from China by a score of 6-1, 6-4 to book her semi-final meeting with Keys, who stunned ninth-seed Czech Marketa Vandersouva in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 to reach the last four.

Sabalenka vs Keys Head to Head

This will be the fourth meeting between Sabalenka and Keys. In the previous three meetings, Sabalenka has had the edge with two wins to Keys' one across WTA and grand slam tournaments.

While Sabalenka defeated Keys in the quarter-finals of 2018 Cincinnati Masters by straight sets 6-3, 6-4, the American Keys avenged that defeat in round of 16 of the 2021 German Open by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.

In the recent meeting in Wimbledon 2023, Sabalenka claimed the edge in her battle with Keys following a straight sets 6-2, 6-4 win in the quarter-finals.
