Wimbledon: Sania Mirza marches on to 2nd round

Wimbledon, jun 23: Sania Mirza launched off her Wimbledon ride by beating Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.

Even though the Indian outshine in the first round with a 6-2, her German opponent took a 3-0 lead in the next game. Keeping her composure through the roller coaster ride of sets, Sania Mirza sealed the deal with a 6-2 in 36 minutes and marched on to the next round.

Mirza will be facing Romanian Sorana Cirstea, who defeated another Romanian, Edina Gallovits, to advance to the second round.Cirstea is still remembered for her brilliant performance that led her to the quarter finals of the French Open
