Tomokun, also known as Tomochan and Satochan, is a prominent Japanese athlete who has made significant strides in his sport. In January 2021, Tomokun decided to become a full-time athlete. He left his job of five years to dedicate more time to practice. He believes that sports have the power to inspire people, especially children facing challenges.
Tomokun's hard work has earned him several accolades. In 2016, he received the Paralympic Special Award from the Japan Paralympic Committee and the Male Rookie Award at the Japan Para Sports Awards. He was also honoured with the International Competition Excellent Achievement Award by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2016 and 2019.
In 2018, he was given a Special Award by the president of the Japanese Para Sports Association. The following year, he received the Grand Award at the Japan Para Sports Awards.
Tomokun is fluent in Japanese and represents Morisawa club in Japan. He has one child born in 2022. His personal philosophy is simple yet profound: "Dreams are meant to be fulfilled."
As of September 2024, Tomokun continues to train rigorously and aims to inspire others through his dedication and achievements in sports.
