ONE Championship: Prajanchai Faces Wang Junguang at The Inner Circle 35

Reigning ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK is set to return to action after a year away from the ring. The Thai star will headline The Inner Circle 35 on Friday, October 16, at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, with the event streaming live via live.onefc.com.

ONE Championship

Prajanchai will make his kickboxing comeback against China's Wang Junguang, a former ONE World Title challenger who is also returning to ONE Championship. Both fighters have plenty to prove after time away, setting up a compelling clash between two veterans looking to reignite their careers.

Explaining why he chose kickboxing for his return instead of Muay Thai, Prajanchai pointed to the challenges of facing an opponent who has continued competing regularly after a lengthy layoff. He also spoke candidly about the difficulty of returning after a full year away.

"The reason I decided to do kickboxing first is-let me tell you this-no matter how good a fighter is, if you take a whole year off and come back to fight someone who has been actively competing every 3 or 4 months, there is no way you can win," he explained.

Prajanchai ready for tough ONE Championship comeback

A Bangkok native who trains at PK Saenchai Muaythaigym, Prajanchai boasts an impressive striking record of 344-53 and a 7-2 record in ONE Championship. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.

The Thai fighter says his preparation has covered every weapon in his arsenal. While he is taking the matchup seriously, he recognises that the outcome remains uncertain in a sport often decided by fine margins and unpredictable moments.

"For this fight, I've prepared everything-punches, kicks, knees-to deal with Wang Junguang. We'll just have to see how it plays out in the ring on October 16. Win or lose, that's just the nature of the sport," Prajanchai said.

Prajanchai targets Aliff Sor Dechapan title fight

Looking beyond his upcoming bout, Prajanchai has outlined a measured plan to rebuild his momentum. He wants to compete in a few fights to regain his rhythm before targeting reigning ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Aliff Sor Dechapan.

"My actual goal is to get two or three fights under my belt to get my body back into a continuous rhythm. I want to get my body fully back into the groove first, and then go for a title shot or title defense against Aliff," Prajanchai said.
