ONE World Champion Jonathan Haggerty Targets Rambolek’s Muay Thai Title After Dominant Win Over Yuki Yoza
British striking star Jonathan Haggerty successfully defended his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title against Yuki Yoza at ONE SAMURAI 1 on April 29, delivering a dominant performance across five rounds to secure a unanimous decision victory and improve his professional record to 24-5.
The title defense generated significant interest due to Yoza's dangerous calf kicks, which had previously helped him defeat two kickboxing world champions and earn recognition from prominent combat sports figures, including Joe Rogan. However, Haggerty effectively neutralised that threat through disciplined tactics and technical precision.

The 29-year-old British fighter showcased a wide range of weapons, combining kicks, punches, knees, and sharp ring awareness to control the fight against the 28-year-old Japanese challenger. His composed display underlined why he continues to be regarded as one of the most well-rounded strikers in the sport.
Jonathan Haggerty reflects on physical challenge after tough five-round battle
After securing the win, Haggerty admitted the physical demands of facing a dangerous opponent over five rounds, while also praising Yoza's effort and acknowledging the high level of competition.
"My legs are killing me! But yeah, it was a great fight. Yoza brought the fire; we knew he would. I'm just so grateful to be here, competing in the best organization in the world," Haggerty said.
"We had a great game plan, and I feel like I stuck to it perfectly. I did want to get stuck in and go head-to-head, but stuck to the game plan, got the win, and that was the main thing. So, yeah. Great opponent also."
Muay Thai title return on Jonathan Haggerty radar
With another successful title defense completed, Haggerty quickly shifted his focus toward future ambitions, revealing his desire to pursue another world title and reclaim two-sport dominance.
The British champion expressed strong interest in challenging reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.
Haggerty previously held bantamweight Muay Thai gold before turning his attention to kickboxing. Regaining that title would allow him to once again become a simultaneous two-sport world champion - a feat that would further strengthen his legacy within ONE Championship.
"Obviously, I'd like to fight for the Muay Thai World Title against Rambolek. That's on my mind as well. Also MMA as well, it's definitely something I'd like to do. You know, I'm a martial artist, so I'll give it a go, for sure," he said.
