Aman Sehrawat added to India's medal tally in the Olympics 2024 after winning the Bronze medal in Men's 57kg freestyle Wrestling on Friday (August 9).
The Indian wrestler beat Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz 13-5 in the Bronze medal match and thus secured India's first medal in wrestling. The 21-year-old wrestler took part in his first Olympics this year and has stood tall among all the Indian contingents.

Aman Sehrawat has quickly risen in the wrestling world. Competing in the 57kg weight class, he has already made a name for himself with significant achievements. Sehrawat was born on July 16, 2003 in Haryana's Jhajjar and he has been a promising name in wrestling.
Standing at 5 feet 7 inches, Aman has demonstrated his prowess both nationally and internationally. His accolades include a bronze medal at the 2022 Asian Games and a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan. And the latest has arrived in Paris as the Indian wrestler has clinched Bronze in the Olympics 2024.
Aman had a massive struggle as he lost both of his parents at the age off 11 years. Aman and his younger sister Puja were cared for by their elder uncle Sudhir Sehrawat and a maternal aunt. Despite these hardships, he had a huge love for wrestling and pursued it. He won the National Championship title in 2021.
Aman's wrestling journey is filled with notable successes. He clinched a bronze medal in the 57 kg category at the 2022 Asian Games and followed it up with a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships. And now he has reached the summit of his career with a Bronze medal at the Olympics. Aman beat Ravi Dahiya in the Olympic qualifiers to get his chance at the Paris Olympics.

Semi-Final: Aman Sehrawat lost to Japan's Rei Higuchi 10-0 in the semis.
Bronze Medal Match: Aman Sehrawat beat Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz to win 13-5.
