Women wrestlers were released from detention by Delhi Police on Sunday evening after Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and their supporters were dragged away from the wrestlers' protest site by Delhi Police soon after they started their march to the new Parliament for Mahila Mahapanchayat.
The women wrestlers and their supporters were released as the provisions of sub-section (4) of Section 46 of the Code of CrPC, 1973 mandates that if the Police want to arrest a woman after sunset, they have to seek prior permission of the Magistrate.

The male wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia, are still in detention. It has also been reported that Delhi Police is going to file an FIR against the four wrestlers. Soon after their release, Vinesh Phogat addressed the media outside the Kalkaji Police Station in the national capital. The three-time Commonwealth Games champion accused police officials of making a video of them while they were detained.
"We told them (police) that you can't keep us in the jail after sunset without any legal procedure and eventually we were let off," said Vinesh Phogat. "They took away our phones after detention and made video of us while we were locked up. We will continue to wait outside the police station as Bajrang and other members are not released yet."
As per Indian Express, Delhi Police will file FIR against the wrestlers for rioting with armed weapons, unlawful assembly, and assaults to deter public servants from discharging their duty and obstructing public servants in duty.
Earlier in the morning, the wrestlers also claimed that their supporters and political leaders supporting their movement for justice against BJP MP and former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
