The Supreme Court on Thursday concluded hearings on three of the seven pleas filed by the female wrestlers against former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The court heard an urgent petition by the wrestlers after Wednesday's night scuffle with Delhi Police.
The Supreme court concluded the hearing after it was informed that FIR has been filed and the statements of some of the complainants against the WFI chief was recorded by the police. The Court, benched by Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, was also told that armed security was provided to the wrestlers after Wednesday's incident.

"The petition has been instituted by three petitioners all of whom who state that they represented India in reputed International wrestling events. Notice was issued on April 25, on April 28 this court was apprised by SG that since allegation implicate commission of cognizable offence.. a FIR was registered," said the CJI.
The bench also rejected wrestlers' plea for a court-monitored probe despite claims of lack of faith from the petitioner over the investigation done by Delhi Police, who allegedly were reluctant in recording a statement against Brij Bhushan.
"Having regard to the ambit of the case before us, we close the proceedings now. For any other relief the petitioners may move the appropriate jurisdictional magisterial court or the High Court," said the CJI. "We have confined ourselves to the prayer and that is served and if you are aggrieved by magistrate court order you can approach Delhi HC."
Earlier, Wrestlers threatened to return their medals, including the Padmi Shri, to the government after it was hurt by the boorish behaviour of the Delhi Police. Wrestlers siad saying these honours serve no purpose if they have to endure such humiliation.
