One of the most popular annual traditions for hardcore wrestling fans, the Blood & Guts match is set to return to All Elite Wrestling programme this week on Dynamite with the titular match inside a double-caged structure being the headliner.
In another major attraction for the night, the first-ever female superstar of the All Elite roster will make her in-ring return on the show after a gap of almost ten months against a three-time AEW Women's Champion.

AEW and ROH President Tony Khan announced that Hikaru Shida will face the returning Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., another former Women's World Champion, in the latter's first match on television since last year's September in the Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite.
The match was set up following what's transpired on this past Saturday's episode of AEW Collision where Shida's match with Skye Blue came to a sudden halt via referee stoppage after Blue suffered a legit leg injury.
Unsatisfied with her bloodlust, the longest-reigning Women's Champion in history then featured in a backstage interview to challenge Baker, "Welcome back! And now you want to be the TBS Champion? Get in line!"
Revisiting their previous brutal encounter, Shida reminded that she made Baker "bleed once before," and she won't hesitate to repeat the offense in the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts 2024.
At last month's AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone defeated NJPW Strong Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a Title vs. Title matchup to become a dual champion. Her celebration moment was ruined by Britt Baker's return that night.
On the very next episode of Dynamite, Baker made her intentions very clear and that's to go after Mercedes Mone's titles. The champ-champ denied her initial challenge to compete in a title match for next month's All In pay-per-view.
Now, Britt Baker has been provided with the opportunity to prove her in-ring superiority at AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts episode set for this Wednesday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The currently confirmed match card for the show goes as follows:
