AEW Collision: Four big matches announced for June 17 debut episode

Bengaluru, June 15: Things are certainly hyping up for the debut AEW Collision episode set for this weekend which is coming with a packed card. Following CM Punk's addition to the show, last week, a plethora of matches have now been confirmed.

During this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, a title match was made official for the very first episode of Collision where AEW TNT Champion Wardlow will be defending his title against the gigantic Luchasauras.

On Dynamite, Jake Hager challenged Wardlow for the title and despite help from the Jericho Appreciation Society members, he came up short. After the match, Christian Cage challenged Wardlow on behalf of Luchasauras to make the match, official.

A women's tag team match has been reserved for AEW Collision which will see four top names from the female roster in action. The lineup stands - NJPW Strong Women's Champion Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue vs. Ruby Soho and AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm.

After winning the AEW Women's Title at Double or Nothing, Toni Storm successfully defended it against Blue on Dynamite. After the match, Blue was attacked by Storm and her Outcasts' cohorts. Hence, Blue will be out for redemption.

For the first time since last year's September, former WWE Superstar Rusev aka Miro in AEW will return to action on AEW Collision against an unnamed opponent. Some of the AEW fans aren't happy with him being booked this way upon return.

One of the fans took to Twitter to mention that it'll be a terrible outing for Miro. In reply, he stated the following, "How can it be terrible when it hasn't happened yet? The debut episode is this Saturday June 17th and The Redeemer will be there."

It's worth noting that Miro hasn't wrestled since last year's All Out as he wasn't interested in AEW's pitched ideas for his return. Last month, he did unceremoniously show up on AEW Dynamite to be a part of Collision.

The debut AEW show will also see Buddy Matthews competing against Andrade El Idolo in a singles contest. This marks the latter's returning match to AEW TV programming since All Out in September.

AEW Collision debut episode takes place, this Saturday, June 17 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. CM Punk and AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR vs. ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe & Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson) will be the main event.
