AEW Double or Nothing 2023: Women’s Title Match, Ladder Match & more announced

Bengaluru, May 18: Jamie Hayter has been the queenpin of the AEW Women's Division for more than five months but her reign is in jeopardy in the wake of The Outcasts' recent momentums as AEW Double or Nothing 2023 inches closer.

As announced on this week's Dynamite, Hayter will put the AEW Women's Title on the line at Double or Nothing against The Outcasts member Toni Storm. Back at Full Gear, Hayter won the title last November by defeating Storm.

Hayter was initially promoted for a trios match on Dynamite alongside The Outcasts members. But AEW President Tony Khan announced just hours before the show that the champion isn't medically cleared to compete.

The injury reportedly happened after Hayter was sent shoulder-first into the ring steps by Storm during a match on Dynamite. However, she's expected to recover within AEW Double or Nothing set for later this month.

Speaking of the pay-per-view, Wardlow will be defending his AEW TNT Championship against Christian Cage in a Ladder Match on that night. The match was set up after Cage was called out by the champion in the opening segment of Dynamite.

Cage and his ally Luchasarus came out to create a verbal exchange before it became a physical brawl. Ultimately Luchasaurus prevailed using the numbers-game and delivered a chokeslam to Wardlow through a ladder.

While getting medically checked by the trainers and doctors, Wardlow proposed the Ladder Match which his mentor Arn Anderson accepted. Thus, Double or Nothing will mark Wardlow's first title defense since winning it from Powerhouse Hobbs on the April 19 episode of Dynamite.

Also, a battle royal will be reserved in the upcoming PPV where Orange Cassidy will be defending his AEW International Championship against 20 other superstars. In order to win, Cassidy will have to be the last man standing in the ring.

The 2023 AEW Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View event is scheduled for Sunday, May 28 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The confirmed match card for the show following this week's Dynamite goes as follows:

- AEW World Championship Four-Way Match: MJF (c) vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin vs. Jungle Boy

- AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (c) vs. Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett (Mark Briscoe to be the Special Guest Referee)

- TNT Championship Ladder Match: Wardlow (c) vs. Christian Cage

- AEW International Championship Match Blackjack Battle Royal: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. 20 other participants

- AEW Women's Championship: Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Toni Storm

- Anarchy in the Arena Match: The Elite vs. Black Combat Club
