A rematch which is in the making for a year, has been made official for the 2024 edition of AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view where TBS Champion Willow Nightingale will defend against Mercedes Mone.
The match was announced for the big-four annual pay-per-view after this Sunday's Dynasty PPV hosted an AEW TBS Championship match which saw Nightingale defeat Julia Hart for the title in just over six minutes.

Heading into the show, speculations broke about Hart possibly dealing with a shoulder injury which could be the reason for the match being short in timespan while this could also be the reason why the former champion dropped the belt in the first place.
Once the match was over, Mone came out to the ring for a face-to-face confrontation with Nightingale. This comes after, Mone already declared to come after the TBS Title following Dynasty's scheduled bout.
The two previously squared off at the May 2023 NJPW Strong Resurgence event in the finals of the inaugural NJPW Strong Women's title tournament. Mone was reportedly set to pick up the debuting title before she famously injured her ankle during the match.
That unfortunate instance changed the finish of the match as Nightingale won it to become the first-ever NJPW Strong Women's Champion. She then held the title for 45 days before losing it to Giulia.
Now that the title match has been announced, it will be the first time since 2023 May that Mone will be seen in action at Double or Nothing. This also becomes the first matchup to be confirmed for the annual event.
Nightingale's title reign also marked the first one of her All Elite Wrestling career as she ended Hart's 155-day run that featured seven successful title defenses. She is also the fourth TBS Champion counting Kris Statlander and current WWE star Jade Cargill.
