AEW Double or Nothing 2024: Two World Title Matches confirmed for PPV

One of the big-four yearly events of All Elite Wrestling is scheduled for later this month in the form of Double or Nothing 2024 edition and we now know about the main event of that show as confirmed on this week’s Dynamite.

AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland kicked things off on Dynamite and he addressed the fact that the EVPs of AEW, The Young Bucks have become power-hungry, and they need to be handled.

The Bucks - Matthew and Nicolas Jackson quickly appeared on the titantron and said they had chosen who Strickland would defend the AEW World Title against at Double or Nothing. The opponent was revealed to be Christian Cage.

The Patriarchy – Christian, Nick Wayne, and Luchasauras appeared in the ring to deliver a beatdown on Swerve and Prince Nana. Christian said he didn’t forget how Swerve attacked his son Nick Wayne and left him in a pool of blood.

That move also cost them a tag team match at All In last year against the team of Sting and Darby Allin and this title match was the chance that he was looking forward to for a payback.

Christian also claimed to become the new father of Swerve’s daughter. Following this segment, Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Christian Cage for the AEW World Championship was officially announced to be the main event of the AEW Double or Nothing 2024 pay-per-view event.

Swerve won the AEW World Title in the main event of Dynasty PPV, last month by defeating the former champion Samoa Joe. Christian was out of action since dropping the AEW TNT Title to Adam Copeland, last month on Dynamite.

Another world title match was made official for Double or Nothing would be contested for the AEW Women’s World Championship where “Timeless” Toni Storm would go through the next title defense of her third title reign.

It’s been confirmed on Dynamite that Toni Storm will defend the title against Serena Deeb. The latter has long wanted to face Storm for the championship and her pledge was met after she defeated Mariah May on Dynamite in a singles contest.

The 2024 AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view will take place Sunday, May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Multiple matches for the show have already been confirmed and they are given below,

- AEW World Heavyweight Championship: Swerve Strickland (c) defends against Christian Cage
