AEW Dynamite: Championship Ladder Match And More Announced For October 23 Episode

The current Ring of Honor World Champion Mark Briscoe will feature in a rematch with the veteran Chris Jericho on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. This time, the stakes will be high as they meet in a Ladder War match.

The two previously collided at WrestleDream, this past weekend for the title with Briscoe retaining his belt. In a post-show interview, Jericho claimed that Briscoe cheated his way to win this match and that he deserved a rematch.

This week on Dynamite, the two-time ROH World Champion featured in a backstage conversation with Renee Paquette to mention that he wasn’t happy with Jericho referencing his late brother. He also accepted the rematch but upped the stakes announcing the Ladder War stipulation.

This will be the first time that Jericho will be competing in a Ladder Match since WWE’s Money in the Bank 2016 edition. Briscoe last competed in a ladder match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, this past June.

Also scheduled for the next episode of Dynamite is a tag team match where The Elite (Young Bucks and Jack Perry) will take on the team of Daniel Garcia & Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy).

This comes after Garcia declared his issues with the Bucks and Kazuchika Okada for not getting involved after the Blackpool Combat Club destroyed several AEW wrestlers, causing a DQ-end in a trios match featuring Bucks and Okada on Dynamite.

Before this, The Bucks defeated Private Party at WrestleDream to retain the AEW world tag team titles. On that same night, Jack Perry attacked Garcia. Furthermore, Perry also denied Garcia's request for a TNT Title rematch.

The ROH Title match and the tag team match are the only two bouts announced for the October 23 edition of Dynamite emanating from Salt Lake City, Utah. A week from that episode, a Halloween-themed Fright Night Dynamite will be presented from Cleveland, Ohio.
