AEW Dynamite: Continental Classic & Title Match Set For November 27 Thanksgiving Episode

In the post-AEW Full Gear PPV edition of AEW Dynamite, the second-ever AEW Continental Classic tournament will begin in two weeks’ time in a treat for the fans during the Thanksgiving weekend.

No particular details were announced other than the kick-off date for the tournament. The reigning Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada will be participating in it which was previously announced through a video that aired, last week.

Given that last year’s tournament format will be retained, the continental classic tournament will be held in a round-robin style with 12 wrestlers split into two sides. Each competitor will have five individual matches to gather points (three for a win, one for a draw).

The wrestler with the maximum number of points will win their group. The assumption is that these two side-winners will collide at December’s Worlds End PPV show to determine the new Continental Champion on the AEW roster.

Last year, Eddie Kingston won the tournament and took home three titles: the inaugural Continental Crown — a triple crown of the then-new AEW Continental title, the NJPW men’s Strong title, and the ROH World title.

The November 27 episode of AEW Dynamite will also feature a championship match where the Ring of Honor World Champion Chris Jericho will defend against Tomohiro Ishii after the latter pinned him in a Fight Without Honor trios match on last Wednesday’s Dynamite.

It marks the first defense in Jericho’s second reign with the ROH Title while Ishii is looking forward to capturing the belt for the first time in a rematch from their 2022 Thanksgiving eve battle in Chicago.

AEW Dynamite November 20 episode goes down at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania while the November 27 Thanksgiving edition takes place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The match cards announced for the two separate shows are given below,
