AEW Dynamite: New Champion Crowned; All In Title Match revealed

Bengaluru, August 3: In what appeared to be an eventful night in AEW Dynamite history, a major title changed hands, this week to alter the dynamics in the women's championship picture. Plus, a World Title Match was also declared for the upcoming All In event.

In the main event match of AEW Dynamite 200th episode, Hikaru Shida defeated Toni Storm (c) to win the AEW Women's World Championship despite the latter one having her Outcasts buddies Saraya and Ruby Soho in her corner.

Interestingly, the former champion lost clean to Shida which might indicate that she could be out of the title picture for the time being. On her behalf, Saraya could be gunning for the title at AEW All In from her home country.

Dynamite marked the beginning of Shida's second championship reign which came after more than two years since Dr. Britt Baker ended her record-setting first reign as AEW Women's Champ at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May 2021.

Back then, the Japanese star held the title for 372 days. On her way to becoming the-then longest-reigning champion, she also carried the AEW women's division on her back throughout the tough times during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As for Storm, her second reign as AEW Women's Champion has now ended on the 66th day. Storm previously held the championship in her first reign for 76 days. That first title reign began after the title was vacated by Thunder Rosa.

With Shida becoming the champion, AEW could be putting more effort into its women's division after criticisms started to float on the internet regarding the booking of female talents. Time will tell who her first challenger is going to be at All In.

Speaking of the upcoming pay-per-view, AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF already has finally received his opponent for the show and thereby the possible main event scenario will also revolve around him.

On Dynamite, MJF thanked Adam Cole for teaching him to live a life with full of love in his heart, and that everyone deserves to have a friend in life. MJF then called Cole his best friend before inviting him to the ring.

Cole was proud to see the change in MJF's heart and the good guy he is behind that ferocious attitude. Afterward, MJF declared that he wants to give Cole the match he's been wanting and that's a title match opportunity.

A contract was thereby presented for MJF vs. Adam Cole for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship at the All In PPV in Wembley Stadium on August 27th. The champion and the challenger hugged it out to make the match, official.
