AEW Dynamite is returning to the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium, next month for their annual Grand Slam edition and it appears that a fresh matchup over the AEW World Heavyweight Championship will headline that night.
In the main event of the All In 2024 pay-per-view event, this weekend, Bryan Danielson defeated Swerve Strickland to win the AEW World Title at the Wembley Stadium in London, England with his family and friends being in attendance.

Many expected a rematch over the title with Strickland would be Bryan's first title defense of his inaugural run with the world championship. However, one of the four-pillar male star powers of AEW will be gunning for his belt.
The reports from PWInsider reveal that Bryan Danielson will face Darby Allin in the main event of the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam episode set for September 25, at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
Allin earned this title shot by winning the Royal Rampage match last month. Being in line for a top championship match, he expectedly came up short to Jack Perry in a Coffin Match for the TNT Championship at All In.
The championship match storyline is expected to kick off on the coming episode of Dynamite where Bryan is scheduled to appear as a champion for the first time. Christian Cage is also entitled to get a shot at his title by winning the Casino Gauntlet at All In.
In an appearance at the post-All In media scrum, Bryan essentially confirmed his presence on this Wednesday's AEW Dynamite as the coming few episodes will mark the final time that he will be seen in his full-time tenure with the company.
With his family making the trip to London to be with him for the AEW World Championship win, Bryan also mentioned that All In 2024 ended up being the favorite moment of his career.
"This is the first time she [his daughter Birdie] remembers seeing me wrestle live. This is the first time my son's ever seen me wrestle live. And without a doubt, that was my favorite moment in my entire career."
