AEW Dynamite: Spoiler on Rob Van Dam after surprising debut on 200th episode

Bengaluru, August 3: In one of the major shockers from the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite, former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam made his debut in All Elite Wrestling. By confronting the reigning FTW Champion, he brought out the vibes of good ol' ECW days.

Originally on Dynamite, FTW Champion "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry called out former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn to face him in the ring as that segment was scheduled to go down to possibly present a match between the two.

The 60-year-old veteran came out and said that he's not going to walk out in the ring and compete as he wasn't medically cleared by the doctors. Plus, Jerry also didn't want to commit child abuse by hitting Perry.

Instead, he had a friend, backstage to give proxy on his behalf. This friend was revealed to be WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam who came out to his old ECW theme song "Walk" by Pantera to send the fans into a frenzy.

Perry immediately tried to attack Van Dam with a chair but the latter escaped the shot and scared away Perry through the hostile crowd. No physical confrontation between the two was seen as it's in store for next week.

Later on Dynamite, Rob Van Dam appeared in a backstage interview with Renee Paquette to inform the fans that he'll be facing "Jungle Je*k" on next week's episode with the FTW Championship, hanging on the balance.

Being an ECW original and since the FTW Title is a trademark of the extinct company, RVD also implied retiring, next week after he dethrones Perry from the ongoing reign. However, AEW could be having further plans with RVD.

As reported before Dynamite 200th episode went on the air by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, AEW wants RVD to get into a stretched feud with Jack Perry to produce a matchup at any one of their two upcoming pay-per-views.

"There have been internal discussions regarding possibly bringing in former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam. Specifically one of the ideas that we heard mentioned him facing FTW Champion Jack Perry at All In or All Out, though none of this is confirmed as of yet."

The 52-year-old former WWE Superstar hasn't wrestled on United States television in nearly three years. His final TV match came in IMPACT Wrestling. Besides staying semi-active, he just worked on a NOAH promotion date in 2022.
