AEW Dynamite: Sting’s final match opponent teased on January 10 episode

The first big four pay-per-view for the All Elite Wrestling brand is going to be AEW Revolution 2024 in early March. It will be a historic occasion where professional wrestling legend Sting will compete in the final match of his career.

Nothing has officially been announced regarding which top AEW talent will have the privilege to retire 'The Icon' but a hint was dropped regarding the same during the latest episode of Dynamite on TBS Network.

On the January 10 episode of AEW's flagship show, Sting and Darby Allin (with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair) defeated The Don Callis Family (Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita) in a tag team action.

After the match, former WCW veteran Tony Schiavone asked Sting if he had made up his mind about choosing his final opponent whom he would face at Revolution. Before he can answer, a surprise return, interrupted the session.

The Young Bucks - Matt and Nick Jackson made their return on Dynamite sporting new mustaches, and wearing black and white trenchcoats. They had a serious look on their eyes while having a staredown with Sting and Darby.

No verbal shots were exchanged between the two parties before The Young Bucks headed backstage and Dynamite came to an end. The commentators thereby teased Matt and Nick Jackson to be the opponents for Sting's last match.

After what transpired on Dynamite, the popular belief is that Sting and Darby Allin will team up at Revolution against The Young Bucks, a duo that's considered the best that AEW's tag team division has to offer.

The Young Bucks have been off television since coming up short of gaining a future shot at the AEW Tag Team Championships at Full Gear in November. Following the match, Matt Jackson lost his composure and smashed things at ringside.

Since then Sting has wrestled only in either tag team or multi-man matches on AEW TV, progressing his record of 26-0 since his debut. It's safe to assume that his undefeated streak won't be broken until Revolution arrives in March.

As previously announced by Sting and his former mentor from WCW Ric Flair in late November, the AEW Revolution 2024 PPV edition will take place on March 3 at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina.
