Bengaluru, March 6: The 2023 AEW Revolution pay-per-view aired, live from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. In the main event, MJF retained his AEW World Heavyweight Championship against Bryan Danielson in a One-Hour Ironman match.
At the end of 60 minutes, the match was tied at 3-3. The match then proceeded under sudden death rules where MJF made Bryan tap out to the latter's own LeBell Lock to leave the fans in a shocking state.
This was the first time that Bryan tapped out in his AEW career, allowing MJF to continue with his championship reign. This was MJF's second title defense following winning the title from Jon Moxley at Full Gear 2022 in November.
Speaking of Moxley, he was defeated by "Hangman" Adam Page via Submission in a hardcore match at AEW Revolution 2023. Fans were left shocked by the match finish where Moxley tapped out after Page choked him out using a long chain.
In the other world title match from the event, Jamie Hayter successfully defended her AEW Women's World Championship. The 27-year-old survived in a triple threat also featuring Saraya and Ruby Soho, via a roll-up win on Soho.
After the match, Soho shocked everyone by turning heel and joining a beatdown on Hayter from Saraya and her ally, Toni Storm. The three also posed together, hinting at a strong heel faction from now onward.
In another major happening from Revolution, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) returned to AEW programming and beat up the current champions, The Gunns, and posed with the AEW World Tag Team Titles, hinting that they are coming after the belts.
Prior to this, The Gunns (c) defeated The Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy & Danhausen to retain the AEW World Tag Team Titles.
Two championships did change hands at Revolution, the first one being the AEW Trios Tag Team Title as The House Of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King) won the belts from The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks).
In the TNT Title Match, Wardlow defeated ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe to win the belt. Joe passed out to Wardlow's sleeper hold. Powerhouse Hobbs won the Face of The Revolution Ladder Match and he will face Wardlow, next for the title.
