The fans in attendance for AEW Revolution 2024 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina got to be part of history as Sting, one of the most important brand ambassadors of the professional wrestling sport competed in the final match of his career.
For the sake of the fans, The Icon headed to the sunset of his career and kept his winning streak intact. In the main event match of Revolution, Sting & Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks in a Tornado Match to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

During Sting's entrance, his two sons were out, dressed as old-school versions of his father, and even participated in the match. But before this entry, Ric Flair came out followed by the special guest timekeeper, Ricky Steamboat.
Taking advantage of the No-DQ situation, these legends as well as Sting's sons got to be part of the match but The Young Bucks were also ruthless and they didn't think twice before taking out Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat.
Darby took an insane bump and the action towards the conclusion of the bout came down to a handicap match between Sting and The Bucks. Sting was further put through a table and a set of glasses but he continued the match.
The Bucks hit Sting with two EVP triggers. In another insane move, Sting kicked out at 2 after the first one and kicked out at 1 during the second one. Bucks further looked for the TK Driver, but Darby interfered and sent Nicholas through the table.
Sting downed Matthew with a Scorpion Death drop before applying the Scorpion Deathlock on Matthew as the latter tapped out. The crowd present at the venue erupted in joy as the beloved wrestler closed his wrestling career as a champion.
Once the match was over, Sting thanked the fans and said he'll never forget the night. In the promo session, Sting also claimed Darby to be the greatest tag team partner that he has ever had.
