AEW Revolution 2024: Sting’s retirement match made official; Will Ospreay added

The Young Bucks arrived on this week's AEW Dynamite to send a statement ahead of their high-stakes title match at AEW Revolution 2024 waiting for early March and they got themselves officially booked for the expected bout against legendary Sting.

Following their effortless win against Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin) on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone came into the ring to host a post-match interview with Matt and Nick Jackson.

Schiavone reminded the duo about the vicious attack on Sting from last week. Hearing it to be a disrespectful act against a legend like Stinger, The Young Bucks decided to publicly fine Tony Schiavone a sum of $1,000 by publicly exercising their power as the Executive Vice Presidents of AEW.

Plus, The Bucks declared themselves the official number one contenders for the AEW Tag Team Championships as they are an undefeated team, this year just like the tag team champions, Sting and Darby Allin.

Matt and Nick quickly proceeded to hit Schiavone for an assault soon after the two challenged for the AEW Tag Team Championships at Revolution 2024. Allin came out to the ring to make the save in the absence of Sting.

Allin further confirmed that he and Sting will indeed defend the AEW Tag Team Championships at Revolution against The Young Bucks which will also mark the final match of the iconic career of Sting.

Speaking of Revolution, this pay-per-view will take place after top free agent Will Ospreay's NJPW contract expires and the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion will be joining All Elite Wrestling, thereafter on a full-time basis.

In the latest Dynamite episode, Don Callis revealed that his client, Konosuke Takeshita, will face Ospreay at Revolution. Ospreay and Takeshita will thus share the ring for the second time and in their first singles outing.

Previously, Ospreay teamed with Takeshita to take on Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi at AEW WrestleDream in early October. Ospreay signed with AEW in November due to the working relationship between AEW and NJPW.
