AEW Revolution 2024: Women’s Championship Match added to card

AEW Revolution will be the first pay-per-view to be delivered by All Elite Wrestling promotion in 2024 and this event will be highlighted by the career-end of the legendary Sting for which the anticipation is high around the circuit.

While that match is yet to be announced, the first official bout of AEW Revolution has now been confirmed by the AEW President and that match will be contested for the Women's Championship.

For weeks now, AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm has scouted "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo who's just arrived at the AEW scene in the early phase of 2024 and now the two will collide in a title match at Revolution.

Purrazzo signed a contract with AEW by in early January and then imminently debuted for the company on the January 3 episode of Dynamite. Since then, she has been on a five-match winning streak, on Dynamite, Collision, and Chris Jericho's "Rock n Rager at Sea" event.

Moments after her debut on AEW TV, Deonna Purrazzo set her sights firmly on AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm due to their past connections and the fact that the latter has recently become delusional via her Hollywood character.

For the time being, Storm has been watching Purrazzo from the commentary desk submitting her opponents like Taya Valkyrie and Anna Jay with the lethal Fujiwara Armbar submission which would be a big threat for her at Revolution.

Purrazzo also knows Storm's weakness as the two women were extremely close earlier on in their careers, and they even have matching tattoos of a duck on their bodies. But that bond will be put to rest at Revolution in this high-voltage match.

For the time being, Storm is booked to be in action on the February 7 episode of Dynamite where Purrazzo will be at the commentary desk for Storm's AEW Women's Championship Eliminator match against Red Velvet.

AEW Revolution is set to take place on March 3 at the iconic Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Apart from the Women's Title Match, Sting and Darby Allin are expected to compete against The Young Bucks on that night.
