AEW WrestleDream 2024: Bryan Danielson's Full-Time Career Ends At PPV

The home-state fans of Bryan Danielson went speechless as their beloved wrestler's full-time career came to an end following a vicious attack, last night at AEW WrestleDream 2024 after he dropped the world title.

In the main event match of the second-ever edition of WrestleDream pay-per-view event, Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson (c) to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. At the finish, Mox submitted his opponent with a chokehold submission.

Once the match bell rang by the referee, Moxley gave Claudio Castagnoli the World Title and it was put into a bag which possibly means that they will keep the title hostage or a new world title is coming to AEW.

Moxley then took out a plastic bag with the intention of punishing Danielson, but Darby Allin and Wheeler Yuta made the save. To shock the fans, Yuta then turned heel and took out Allin to pick the side of the new Blackpool Combat Club led by Moxley.

Moxley then gave Yuta the plastic bag and he put it over Bryan's face to choke him. Private Party and Jeff Jarrett came out to make the save, but the BCC members easily took them out.

Heinous actions from BCC further continued as Moxley put a chair around Danielson's neck before Castagnoli stomped on it. As more locker room members emptied into the ring, BCC finally retreated from the scene.

In the closing sequence of WrestleDream, Danielson got stretchered out of the Tacoma Dome, and the fans went pin-drop silent. The AEW commentary team of Excalibur and Tony Schiavone also sounded emotional as they called out the sequence.

Via this win of Moxley at AEW WrestleDream, he has begun the fourth world title run of his career, the first one since 2022. In AEW, he wrestled Danielson in three singles matches with the score being 3-0 in his favor.

Danielson won the AEW World Title at August's All In and he declared afterward that when he loses the world title, it will mark the final match of his full-time in-ring career. It remains to be seen if he sticks to his statement.
