AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May has received her next challenger for the title on the WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view show, as announced on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, also dubbed the "Title Tuesday" special.
In a big match on the weekly AEW programming, Willow Nightingale defeated Saraya (with Harley Cameron), Nyla Rose, and Jamie Hayter in a four-way contest to earn a shot at the women's title at WrestleDream.

The match also witnessed interference from Penelope Ford in favor of Saraya who ended up having a miscommunication with Cameron. This allowed Willow to hit Saraya with a Nightingale Doctor Bomb and a Samoan Drop through the table to secure the pin-fall win.
Originally, Dr. Britt Baker was set to face Willow Nightingale for the title match opportunity in a singles contest, but Baker had to withdraw from the match due to illness just a week after her return to AEW for the first time since All In.
Nightingale previously defeated Mariah May in the finals of the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation tournament. May won the title at August's All In and will be going through the third title defense of this reign at WrestleDream.
Also, for the first time since losing to Adam "Hangman" Page in a steel cage match at last month's All Out PPV, the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland will return at WrestleDream.
As for Strickland's bitter rival Hangman Page, he will be seen in action at WrestleDream against another old rival Jay White in a rematch. White made his in-ring return on Dynamite and then called out Page for a match that was made official.
The 2024 AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view takes place this Saturday that's on October 12 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. The confirmed matches for the show are given below:
