A dual championship match was reserved at the 2024 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event where TBS Champion Mercedes Mone collided and defeated NJPW Strong Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a Title vs. Title matchup.
Both the champions gave their all during the match with high-flying offense, submission attempts, and hard-hitting moves like Vaquer repeatedly driving Mone's head into the mat in quick fashion, a move that was cheered by the fans.

Stephanie received huge fans while Mone majorly received boos, being someone billed from Boston. But in the end, she hit the Mone Maker and immediately applied the crossface to tap her opponent out for the win at Forbidden Door.
Mone vs. Stephanie was a rematch from their May 2023 semifinal bout in a one-night tournament that went down for the inaugural Strong Women's Championship. Mone also got injured in the final match which led Willow Nightingale to become the inaugural champion.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door also marked Mone's second title win in just two months after she defeated Nightingale for the TBS title at Double or Nothing, last month. It also appears that she will have a huge target on her back after capturing the dual titles.
After the match was over, Dr. Britt Baker's music hit the TBS Arena to garner loud pops from the Long Island, New York fans. Staying on the ramp, she shared a staredown with Mone and hinted at a future feud.
The 2024 Forbidden Door thus marked Baker's first appearance since her loss in September 2023 to Kris Statlander for the latter's TBS Title in Baker's home state of Pennsylvania. She was then out of action for what's believed to be due to a back injury.
Most recently, Baker was photographed with the former Bella Twins of the WWE. Now that the stadium show AEW All In is coming up, it appears that The Doctor is back to take The CEO of the women's division in a dream match.
